Register House Golf Club’s latest outing was held at Gleneagles on Wednesday 24th April.
Having visited a combination of the King’s and Centenary Courses the year before, the Golf Club was delighted to once again have the opportunity to return to this prestigious venue to play the shorter but challenging Queens’ Course.
Sadly the recent good weather failed to last and woolly hats were the order of the day with pints of lager at the requested 10th hole stop being replaced by hot cups of Bovril! The weather however failed to detract from the overall enjoyment and success of the outing.
The winner of the Jubilee Vase with a fantastic Stableford score of 41pts was Alan Gray.
The runner-up was Colin Mackie with a score of 33pts.
Ball nearest the hole winners are as follows:
2nd Hole         –          Bob Colquhoun  5th Hole    –          Richard Torrance
13th Hole         –          Norman Baikie    14h Hole   –          Gordon Taylor
17th Hole       –          Greig Mitchell     Nearest in 2 at the 18th was Thomas Grant
2s on the day were scored by Duncan Rae and Dave Simpson at the 5th, Greig Mitchell and Stevie Lugton at the 17th and Thomas Grant at the par 4 15th.
The team event was won by Jim Gordon, Kevin Stewart, Greig Mitchell and Peter Whitecross with a full handicap stableford score of 49pts.
RHGC were delighted to welcome 1 new member to the club Bob Colquhoun.
Our next outing will be at 2 round event at Aberdour Golf Club on Friday 7th June with details to follow in due course. Â If anyone wishes to join the office golf club, please speak to any member of the council listed on the RHGC Intranet pages.
